Reverend Darin V. Poullard
Reverend Darin V. Poullard has been serving as Pastor at Fort Washington Baptist Church since October 2002. Pastor Poullard is passionate about ministry, about teaching and preaching, and about aiding believers in their walk with God. He’s burdened to see people not only saved but also to see them live out faith in Christ Jesus that they might realize all that God has promised to those who live for Him.
Pastor Poullard is a native New Yorker, having spent his earliest years in Brooklyn with his sister Lisa, prior to his mom, Rev. Jannie Poullard, moving them to a home in Queens. He attended and graduated from New York City Technical College in Brooklyn, where he earned an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Data Processing and York College in Queens where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Information Systems. As a young man, Pastor Poullard was active in football and boxing. In 1986 he was the New York Golden Gloves as a welterweight and came close to winning the event again in 1987, but had to withdraw due to an injury.
Pastor Poullard relocated to Massachusetts in 1988 and for the next 14 years he worked in Computer Engineering assignments in companies such as GTE, Anderson Consulting, PriceWaterHouse Coopers, and IBM. In 1990, he began his seminary studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston, Massachusetts where earned a Master’s Degree in Urban Ministry and a Master’s of Divinity, both with a concentration in Religious Education. He was licensed to preach the Gospel in 1992 by Rev. Dr. Larry Edmunds and the saints at St. John’s Baptist Church in Woburn, MA and was ordained in 2002, the same year Fort Washington Baptist Church called him to serve as Pastor. He loves the saints at Fort Washington Baptist Church and praises God for having allowed him to serve in such a ministry.
Pastor Poullard and his darling bride Vicki met at work in 1988, got engaged in 1989, and were married in June of 1990. They have a wonderful loving marriage, rooted in Christ and built on biblical principles. Together they are reared two precious daughters to live for the Lord Jesus Christ; their firstborn Danielle “Blossom” Rene’ and their baby-girl, Candace “Chocolate Cupcake” Noreen. They love the Lord Jesus, love His people, and love serving our Lord with the saints from The Fort! To God be the glory for the great things He is doing!
